Hey there! Today I'm finally launching my very first Photo Presets Collection for Lightroom π₯³ As most of you probably know I have been working on these presets for a long time. In fact, they have slowly developed over many years. These are the presets I use daily in my own photographic practice, for anything from food to nature, portraits and lifestyle images. My signature look, if you will. Vibrant, moody, poetic and with a touch of nordic melancholy. We are going to come back to the filters in a little bit, but first a life update, because I have some pretty fun news to share! | | Remember earlier this year when I said that my intention for this spring was to find an interesting job where I could work 60%, and then do my business on the side? Well, I found that job ππ» And I'm starting NEXT WEEK already π
This is going to be so much fun, and probably also a major challenge in the beginning, before I'm used to this new routine. Last year I felt deeply tired of working alone for myself all the time. I miss having colleagues, a place to be, a team to share the process with and celebrate wins. I also wanted to have some sort of financial stability, as most other things in my life right now are very uncertain. With all the miscarriages and the Hashimotos and trying to get my health and hormones back on track, it's been a little too much also trying to run and grow a successful business. But most of all I've realized that working alone every day is not my ideal way of living. I need the balance of social interactions and to be part of a work context, AND the alone time pursuing my creative projects. Right now, 60/40 feels like the perfect balance. So, starting next week, I'll be working 3 days a week at the communications agency Oh My here in town, as a project manager with a focus on social media and content. After 8 years of working on my own content strategies, I look forward to collaborate with other brands, helping them thrive π To make space for this, some things in my own business will have to change. For starters, this weekly letter will turn into a monthly letter, delivered to you the last Friday of the month. Though I might check in occasionally in-between letters, if I have something special to share ☺️ The rhythm on the blog and Instagram will likely also change and be a little less frequent. I'm treating these channels more as a hobby or side business. A place to share when inspiration strikes. But we'll see! It might be that this new jobs gives me some life back to start sharing content again. My photography course will most definitely run again! Probably later this spring, in the same food focused interation as last time. And obviously I'm going to keep creating digital products such as presets for you ♥️ The Instagram course will unfortunately not be offered any longer. But those of you who already bought it will of course still have access to the material. And I will continue to teach yoga live here in PiteΓ₯. We actually have a new space coming up, hopefully ready by this summer ππ» I started a separate Instagram account for my yoga business called @yogaipite. There are no posts up yet, but you can follow along if you want to stay up to date. Ok, back to the presets! And keep reading for this week's self-care, books & podcast recommendations. | | | My Photo Presets for Lightroom are now available for purchase π₯³✨ππ» Presets are one-click photo filters that you apply to your images when editing to give them a certain feel. They make the entire editing process much faster, and will help you achieve certain looks that might be hard to create on your own. They are a great tool for all photographers - from beginners to professionals. I learned most of my editing skills by studying other peoples presets and the way they affect the image π The Essentials Bundle includes: - All three collections: Meadow, Foodie and Vintage. In total 14 filters for your food, lifestyle, nature, portraits and still life photography.
- Available for Adobe Lightroom Desktop & Mobile. You will receive a detailed Installation Guide with your order.
- The presets also work with Camera Raw. Here's a video explaining how to import them there.
- Instant digital delivery to your email, so that you can start playing around with the filters right away.
Watch a video demonstration and before and after images HERE. | | Currently feeling: A little overwhelmed with all the changes going on in my life (new job, new diet, learning about my autoimmune condition etc.), at the same time hopeful and excited about finally finding solutions. In need of quiet time to process and just be. In my headphones: Learned so much from Jenny Koos lecture on the thyroid. This is a paid class, but I know she has a free podcast episode on the subject as well. Self-care of the week: As per recommendation from my Nutritionist, I started doing a daily humming meditation, to stimulate the vagus nerve and help my body get into a relaxed state. I quite often carry around a subtle feeling of stress and anxiety in my chest, and after 15 minutes of this humming meditation, those sensations are completely gone ππ» The way I typically do it is I quietly inhale through the nose with a relaxed belly, and then I make a deep, humming sound on the exhale, while gently pulling the pelvic floor and lower belly up and in (mula and uddiyana bandha). Long term vagus nerve stimulation is supposed to increase the connection between the gut and brain, improving digestion and recovery and prevent inflammation. Reading of the week: Currently reading Sally Rooneys new book Beautiful world, where are you, that I haven't decided what I think of yet. Though I must say, there is something very interesting about the way she portrays relationships. Nothing is as you expect it, yet somehow the characters are deeply human. Wishing you a cozy weekend ♥️ | | | | |
