Peeling back the layers of transformation 🧅

Hi there!

Hope you've had a lovely week so far!

It's Friday morning and I'm sitting at my "second home" Pensionatet with a cup of flowery black tea writing this. Whenever I need to get out of the house I go here, and sneak up to the second floor of the building to borrow their cozy office. Grateful to have this place in town, where all of us freelancers can meet and feel less alone in our work.

Have I told how you much I love writing these weekly emails? They are my favorite way to connect with you, as they feel more personal and free flowing than an Instagram caption.

I'm transitioning more and more to longer formats of writing, such as blog posts, guides and courses. It feels right taking that extra time to create something that will live longer. But that also means I have less time over for Instagram and quick updates on Stories. Perhaps this will balance out over time. Right now I enjoy stepping away from social media a little more often to focus on other things.

On a more personal note, I've recently discovered that I have issues with my thyroid, which explains the extreme tiredness I've experienced lately, and some of the more subtle symptoms that have been sneaking up on me for years.

Obviously this is something that was tested during my many pregnancies last year, and I do remember the doctor mentioning something about "antibodies", without really explaining what that meant.

It wasn't until I started reading and researching on my own that I realized that these antibodies was indicative of an autoimmune response in my body.

So now I'm in the middle of learning more, getting more testing done and figuring out what this means for my health.

It's all very new and it's taking up a lot of my mental space at the moment. So much new information to process and thoughts spinning in my head (what does this mean for my diet and lifestyle and fertility? How would I feel if I didn't have these issues? Are the mild symptoms of depression I've felt on and off for the past years actually connected to my thyroid?).

Phew! It's a lot. I'm beginning to understand that the challenges of last year was only one layer of the onion 😅 Who says your Saturn return is supposed to be over when you're 30? I'm pretty sure mine started at 32... 😂

Yeah so... I honestly don't know how I find the time and energy to keep creating content while all of this stuff is going on.

Speaking of content... This week I created a free guide for you, all about finding your Brand Values and deepening your connection to them. This exercise is also available inside the mini Instagram course, for those of you who are enrolled in that one.

This exercise has helped me a lot when it comes to prioritizing what matters the most in my business, and not getting lost in the details. During my 8 years of blogging, my brand has shifted a lot, and I've also grown into a completely different person. So it is really important to regularly check in and update your brand values, to make sure they reflect where you're at TODAY.

Establishing this foundation for your brand is the first step towards meaningful action. You can download the guide via the link below 🧡 I hope that it will be of value to you!

Happening right now:
  • There's a new FREE guide available for you, all about Exploring your Brand Values. You can download the exercise HERE.

This course is all about leading with the heart when showing up online, exploring our why and letting go of capitalist ideas of productivity and success. All so that we can find more ease & joy in our social media strategy. Curious to learn more? Now is the time to sign up, as the discount will end on Sunday!

Currently feeling:

Constantly in my head, like a "thought tornado" taking over, lots to process and like I have too many things going on at once, but also empowered to take charge of my health and grateful for the tools I already have.

In my headphones:

I really enjoyed the episode about building your brand on Lindner // Bååth podcast. I love the idea of playing with the five senses when describing your brand (how does it smell/taste/feel/look and sound like?). A creative and down to earth approach to brand building.

Self-care of the week:

In an attempt to quiet the mind before bed I've been practicing reiki as I'm about to go to sleep. I have no formal training in reiki, but I did get initiated and was shown how to do it on myself by a reiki healer I've gone to a few times. Even though I'm not quite sure how to do it, I find it so relaxing to simply rest my hands on my body, focusing on my breath and allowing my mind to slowly get ready for sleep.

Reading of the week:

Just finished Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and cried a lot at the end ♥️ A very gripping novel about two women struggling to make a difference during the second world war.

Right now I'm reading Balans by Karin Björkegren Jones, about natural ways to heal the thyroid. This book is just touching on different tools you can use to feel better, and gives a good overview of the many things affecting the thyroid and our hormonal health.
