There are few better texts, DMs, or emails to get from a friend than “This made me think of you.” It’s probably the best thing (maybe even the only good thing) to come out of the scrolling many of us do online. At least we stumble upon words and images we know our friends will find hilarious or touching. “This made me think of you.” It’s not that we have to write those actual words. The mere act of sending something you found delightful to a friend inherently says, “This made me thing of YOU.” Friendships are often built on these little recognitions instead of grand gestures. Meet Hannah Rosenberg!Hannah Rosenberg is my guest on episode 170 of Dear Nina. She’s a best-selling author and poet whose work is all about these micro-moments of care and connection. I was so excited to meet the woman behind the words I’ve been sharing in my own Instagram stories for years and sending directly to friends. Hannah’s poetry collection, Same, from St. Martin’s Press, centers around the themes of friendship, motherhood, and everyday life. Her words have made MANY THOUSANDS of people online say or write “same” in the comments. Together Hannah and I dive into what it actually means to feel seen, and how to make your friends feel seen. Hannah reads some of her most-shared friendship poems. There are tears (the good kind). And it’s a warm, genuine conversation about connection, vulnerability, and the friendships that quietly save us.
