Which aspects do you think makes a person "refreshing"?

Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

From what I remember of Biology lessons, everyone is genetically unique, so perhaps the word "refreshing" is more suitable.

But "refreshing" people seem really difficult to find! This might be because I am a bit unusual. But in all fairness, I have stopped trying quite a while ago. Partly because I moved countries too often, but it also didn't seem to worth the search.

So yea, I am definitely selective with people, but there are a few qualities I find very refreshing 🙂

A. If your opinion isn't solely based on "because experts/media/politicians say…"

People are crowning themselves experts, CEOs, influencers and what not way too easily these days. And how can we ignore the person with such an important title, right?

I am a highly skeptical person. This does not mean I believe in conspiracy theories. Far from it.

I just find it hard to have an opinion on something I don't know much about or haven't experienced myself. This is also why I have never voted and quite likely, never will.

Sometimes it is best to be quiet. Not having an opinion is not a crime.

B. People who manage to not contradict themselves

How often have you heard to "just be yourself" and that exact same person will later tell you how to dress, talk, walk, breathe.

Ask any woman if there should be more women in the workplace, they will most likely answer with a YES! Ask that same woman if she prefers to work with males or females, I am almost sure they will answer with "men, because they are just less dramatic".

I find these contradictions are very confusing. You can't do both at the same time, can you? 🤨

The drawing of the cat represents him holding a mask that has the same face expression as his actual face. Which hopefully represents that he doesn't contradict himself 😄

C. People who can accept their age

"Age is just a number". "You're only as old as you feel".

A 35 year old calling themselves "girl(ie)" or "boy".

These statement make me cringe so much.

Nobody said that getting older is a bad thing, but denying it is silly. Even if you won't, your knees will speak for you 😉

D. People who can sum up their achievements without bragging

This is especially something that annoys me within the illustrator world. I see so many messages on social media of illustrators describing themselves or their work as "professional", "talented ", "cute/ realistic drawings".

Honestly, just post your art work. That will speak so much more than these empty words 😉
