I have many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving… But I do want to take a moment to acknowledge the forgotten ones — Those whom make things happen behind and beyond the scenes; Who work so damn HARD and tirelessly out there on the farmlands to help plant, pick, wash, grow, maintain, dig up and sometimes transport our fruits/vegetables from the soil to the markets. They come to this country and accept jobs that lazy spoiled Americans reject. This is America's TRUTH and reality; It is a FACT. Those string beans, potatoes, fruit pies, and that cranberry sauce and salad you had (for Thanksgiving dinner) did not magically appear on your table. Immigrants - legal and/or illegal, made that happen for you and for all of us. Sadly, the workers are often taken for granted; They are underpaid and under-appreciated; They are frequently exposed to unhealthy and dangerous work conditions; They are degraded and chastised by many ignorant and undereducated Americans. Politics aside, please let's not forget to be thankful for them. - Even if it means for one day! Immigration has been a VERY complex issue in our country for a long, long time - TOO long. NO President has got it right yet. Why? - Our country has depended on them for too long, for too many things, and for too often; They are quickly called upon to clean up after catastrophes. YES they are! No one supports illegal immigration and open borders. NO one! Once the closed and uninformed minds get a grip on these truths, then they'll have a better understanding of how things been working in this country. MOST immigrants regardless where they're from, are decent human beings, and they should be treated as such. The best thing we can all do is converse with them and get to know them. You'll be surprised what you will learn. And for those who don't like them simply because they look different or speak differently, then please stay in your house and never come out. No one likes the way you look either! Ignorance doesn't make anyone look beautiful! Gracias immigrants! - Especially to my landscapers and tenants. ❤πŸ‘πŸ‘
