Dates and times: This internship will run for 50 hours over the summer vacation from our Newcastle city centre premises.

Bursary/wage: £625 Bursary

Role overview: We are seeking a highly motivated student in life sciences to join our team for an internship. The successful candidate will have experience in cell and tissue culture, PCR techniques, and RNA extraction.

Role title: Consumer Insight and Research Intern, Emotional Logic

Dates and times: This internship is for 200 hours undertaken flexibly over the summer vacation from our premises in Newcastle as well as remotely.

Role overview: You will be supporting one of our project teams and have the opportunity to get involved in data collection and analysis on some of our current research projects. This could involve online surveys, statistical analysis, qualitative data coding as well as admin support to make sure the projects run smoothly. Training will be provided.

Role overview: The challenge with this project is recruiting participants with the mental imagery characteristics of interest. The successful applicant will be an active member of the research team working on all aspects of the project with the aim of collecting data from our target population.

Role overview: The interns will be working alongside Design Unit engineers on a variety of tasks related to research work being undertaken in the National Gear Metrology Laboratory, one of the world's top gear measurement labs. The role will involve some practical metrology, introduce you to the science of measurement and measurement analysis work. You will assist with work to assure the accuracy and precision of measurement instruments and systems within the national lab.

Role overview: Beyond the Waves is a project, which explores experiences off loss and bereavement, using creative and embodied methods with a particular focus on the significance of place. The current phase of this work involves development of a performance with storytelling, movement and music which is based on participants real world experiences. We are looking for a film that captures this sharing, potentially alongside some audience feedback, though we are open to discuss the detail of this activity further and welcome creative input.

Role overview: The intern will work with the Learning and Teaching Development Service Team to map and evaluate the module through engaging with staff members and international students to identity gaps and needs. The intern will collect data from staff members (using online diaries) and students (through focus groups).
