When darkness falls in Daglan on Halloween night not even a rain storm will stop the trick or treat children from coming to your door.
It's Halloween, it's Halloween
The moon is full and bright
and we shall see what we can not be
seen on any other night.
Skeleton's, ghosts and ghouls,
werewolves rising from their tombs.
Witches on their magic brooms.
Our Halloween log is placed in the window ready for the first trick or treat children to arrive.
.
And here they are, our first children of the night looking so cute in their costumes. We had six groups of children which was a brilliant turnout considering the storm that descended later in the evening.
.
Here you are dressed for the night,
you knock and knock upon my door ready to give me a fright,
instead I am dressed up two, and give you such a fright when I go boo.
.
The costumes are brilliant and just look how big the little boys basket is.
.
A very scary quartet.
.
Heavy rain did not stop the groups of children from having fun. Luckily we had enough candy and chocolate for everyone.
Wow, you are all amazing, well done.
.
Today is Toussaint or the Day of the Dead, a public holiday when people think about those friends and family members who are no longer with us. The shops in the area have been full of chrysanthemums for the last few weeks. Which are a traditional flower for the dead in France. These flowers are bought and taken to the cemetery after a church service.
